MINNEAPOLIS (04/24/18) -- Jamie Engelsma has been named vice president of Kraus-Anderson Financial Services Group, Inc. (KAFS).  Formerly known as Kraus-Anderson Mortgage Company, the newly branded KAFS will continue to work closely with Kraus-Anderson Development and will build on its growing capabilities as a financial services resource for KA and its business partners.  Engelsma has served on the mortgage company’s board since 2016, and in his new position joins KAFS vice presidents Mary Jo Kelly and Greg Nilson.

Engelsma holds several senior leadership posts at Kraus-Anderson.  He is an assistant vice president and board member of Kraus-Anderson Companies.  He also serves on the board of Kraus-Anderson Construction Company.

Over the past several years, Kraus-Anderson has considerably grown its capabilities of securing financing through both traditional and creative sourcing for high-stakes, mixed-use developments, notably CityPlace in Woodbury and the new KA Block, home to Kraus-Anderson’s new headquarters, HQ Apartments and Finnegans House in downtown Minneapolis.

“That growth in capacity, coupled with the steady growth of KA Development, positions our financial services operation to provide more options for clients and business partners,” said Bruce Engelsma, CEO and chairman of Kraus-Anderson Companies.  “We look forward to Jamie’s leadership, which will contribute to the growth of KAFS as a financial services resource for future development.”

Jamie Engelsma began his career with KA Construction in 1989 as a part-time laborer.  He has served as a project manager since 1996 and has managed dozens of noteworthy projects in various industry sectors, including retail, financial, education, healthcare, recreation, gaming and hospitality.  Some of his noteworthy Minnesota projects include the LEED Gold-registered Anderson Hall at Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter; Jewish Community Center, St. Paul; Valley Ridge Senior Living, Burnsville; Dakota County Senior Housing, West St. Paul; One Southdale Place, Edina; Silver Lake Village, St. Anthony; Ninth Street Lofts, St. Paul; Canterbury Park, Shakopee; Running Aces Harness Park, Columbus; and multiple housing projects for the University of Minnesota.

A LEED accredited professional (AP), Engelsma received his B.A. in Real Estate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He also studied at Dunwoody College of Technology, Minneapolis and serves on its board.
