THOR Companies is the largest minority-owned business in Minnesota and one of the largest minority-owned construction companies in the country.

MINNEAPOLIS (6/25/2018) – The board of directors for the Minneapolis Regional Chamber has selected Ravi Norman, CEO of THOR Companies, as its new chair-elect. He will assume the role of board chair in January 2019.

Norman will replace Ted Johnson, Chief Strategy Officer for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx, who will complete his two-year term at the end of this year and will remain on the board as immediate past chair.

“The Minneapolis Regional Chamber has undergone a metamorphosis the past few years and is positioned for success unlike ever before. Growing membership, the most diverse business Board in the state, strategic alliances with other business entities and an emerging role as the advocacy voice for Twin Cities businesses positions us well to build the prosperous region we all want,” said Johnson. “We are thrilled to have Ravi Norman taking the reins during this important time for the Chamber and our region. Ravi is an exceptional leader who brings a laser focus to increasing prosperity across our region and building stronger communities.”

“I believe that leadership is the utilization of your resources – time, energy, ideas and money – to help others unlock and realize their full potential,” said Norman. “The Minneapolis Regional Chamber is a great platform to work on the concept of ‘smart building,’ which I define as the optimal integration of social, environmental and economic values and outcomes. I’m looking forward to working with the staff and members of the Minneapolis Regional Chamber to continue strengthening our region.”

THOR Companies’ construction portfolio includes sports stadiums, hotels, office towers and retail stores in markets across the country, including U.S. Bank Stadium and TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
