SUMMARY:SOLD OUT! Emerging Leaders: Get Promoted and Better Serve Your Community with Volunteer Leadership Experience
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT!\n\n\n\nJoin the Minneapolis Regional Chamber's Emerging Leaders for a fun evening of networking and discussion on how to get promoted and better serve your community with volunteer leadership experience.\n\n\n\nMany young professionals are eager to climb the leadership ranks within their company but can often be denied certain promotional opportunities because of their lack of experience. It's a classic chicken vs. egg debate of "How am I supposed to get promoted to a leadership position of I first need leadership experience to get promoted?" The answer is by getting experience outside your current role. Volunteer leadership positions are not only a great way to better serve your community but also a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills to prepare for the next stage in your career.\n\n\n\nDuring this event\, hear from several members of the Emerging Leaders Advisory Committee\, a diverse group of successful cross-sector emerging leaders\, on ways they have learned how to strategically develop leadership skills through purpose driven volunteer work like pro-bono services\, employee resource groups (ERGs)\, committees\, task forces\, boards\, and commissions within the private\, public\, and nonprofit sectors.\n\n\n\nThis event is specifically intended for young professionals looking for opportunities to develop themselves as leaders in the workplace. Registration includes complimentary appetizers. Drinks will be available for purchase. \n\n \n\n*********************************\n\n\n\nOur Young Professional Network Partners:\n\nYoung Professionals of Minneapolis\n\nMinneapolis Global Shapers\n\n\n\n*********************************\n\n\nAbout Emerging Leaders:\n\nThe Emerging Leaders series fosters dynamic\, interactive and informative conversations designed to help young professionals develop cross-sector connections and practical insights about how to be a successful leader in the workplace. All program content is based on lessons learned from our Advisory Committee\, a diverse group of successful cross-sector emerging leaders and representatives of other local young professional networks. Programing will begin with presentations from experienced young professionals\, subject matter experts\, and/or community leaders followed by small group discussions and networking.
