Business Education Partnerships Specialist

Job Description
The TwinWest’s Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) organization focused on Talent and Workforce development, attraction, and retention. The strategic goals and priorities of the foundation advance the mission of TwinWest Chamber of Commerce and align and support the strategic framework approved by the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce Board. The Director of Business and Education Partnership works to further develop and enhance the relationships and strategies of our business and education partners, and reports to the President of the Foundation.  

To strengthen the TwinWest and Minneapolis Regional Chambers of Commerce and their Foundations, as well as to increase scalability and growth of the Elevate Futures talent program, the two organizations will be consolidating in the coming weeks. 
This position will reside in the Minneapolis Chamber Foundation in the future.   

The following are the Foundation’s Goals: 
➢ Facilitate regional solutions and collective action to meet talent needs. 
➢ Generate strategic partnerships and public-private investments that benefit business, communities, and people.
➢ Drive key strategies to attract, develop and retain a thriving workforce.  

Plans and executes programs, initiatives, and events, in partnership with K-12 schools, districts, post secondary institutions, businesses, and others, to support talent attraction, development and retention. 
Enhance regional efforts to attract, develop and retain youth for careers in high demand industries and occupations.
    • Scale career-based learning opportunities for youth.
        o Lead, teach, implement, and grow the relationships, programs, and the online technology platform to allow businesses,                 students, and educators to connect, communicate and collaborate in career-based learning experiences. 
        o Help develop, expand, and enhance youth career exploration experiences.
    • Facilitate and assist with teacher professional development opportunities (i.e. teacher externships and site visit experiences).     • Recruit, facilitate and communicate opportunities for businesses to engage in the development of their future workforce                including industry awareness, local company opportunities, volunteer activities, and job postings.
    • Engage and lead the collaboration with the Hennepin West CTE Consortium, key partners of the talent and workforce                  initiatives. 
    • Lead effective development, implementation and evaluation of high-impact talent initiatives and partnerships.
    • Recruit, train, manage, and nurture partnerships with local businesses and community organizations. 
    • Steward relationships with business and education partners, providing regular progress reports and continuous improvement        efforts.
    • Oversee and help facilitate teacher externship program and other educator development opportunities.
    • Facilitate and manage the Regional Advisory Board
    • Recruit and retain qualified board members for the Regional Advisory Board 
    • Lead the design and oversee the execution of annual Talent Symposium. 
    • Help support build-out and execution of Elevate Futures initiative, the technology platform to facilitate career connected                 learning and experiences.  This includes recruiting businesses to participate in career-based learning opportunities;                       facilitating input of information from businesses into the platform; training and supporting teachers and staff, and if                         applicable, postsecondary staff and faculty to support full usage use of tool. 
    • Attend weekly staff meetings, scheduled in-services, and staff retreats. 
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; in education, business management, public administration, community relations,        partner relations, or related field required. 
    • Years of Related Experience: 3 years of experience in education, workforce development, education, learning and training,           or related industry, to ideally include experience in leading dynamic diverse teams.
    • Preferred background in education, teaching and learning, business, and education partnerships and/or curriculum                        development. 
    • Understanding of social, economic, and psychological factors that impact education outcomes and disparities, and workforce development and retention.
    • Experience training or leading education teams.
    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to document and communicate project plans, prioritize work, monitor work progress, and achieve project milestones/end results.
    • Demonstrated ability to assess, interpret and use data to inform decision making.
    • Experience with diverse communities and building cross-sector partnerships to design and execute programs and initiatives.     • Demonstrated experience engaging business and other stakeholders in education and/or workforce development efforts.

    • Strong communications and public relations skills coupled with the ability to influence others in a positive manner (i.e.                  consultative sales skills).
    • Ability to recruit and engage small and medium businesses from different industries in talent initiatives, particularly career-            based learning opportunities.
    • Ability to take initiative, to organize and implement a multi-faceted workload with minimum supervision and function well as a        member of a team.
    • Ability to communicate with peers, members, community partners and volunteers from the business, education, and                      nonprofit community in a professional manner.
    • Understanding of and ability to use Microsoft Office.
    • Comfortable with web-based project management tools and collaboration technologies, and social media platforms such as          Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting all deadlines. 
The preceding qualifications are guidelines. Other combinations of education and experience could provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job.  The position is a full-time position but may be adjusted to two part-time positions if the necessary skill sets and requirements are found in two candidates.

Salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 annually with benefits including health, dental, 401(k), PTO, etc.
