Applications Now Open for 2020 Tekne Awards – Be Recognized for Minnesota-Based Science and Technology Innovation

2020 Tekne Celebration Goes Virtual, Recognizes the Achievements of Innovators in Technology
(MINNEAPOLIS) July 7, 2020 – The Minnesota Technology Association (MnTech), formerly known as The Minnesota High Tech Association, is excited to announce the opening of the 2020 Tekne Award application period, now in its 21st year. 
The Tekne awards honor Minnesota-based organizations and individuals that play a significant role in creating, commercializing and supporting science and technology innovation within our state. Science or technology organizations doing business in Minnesota, as well as non-profit, higher education and government institutions are encouraged to apply. Applications are due by August 5, 2020 and nominations are free. Finalists in each category will be announced September 30, 2020 with winners being revealed on November 18, 2020 at the annual Tekne awards celebration. Details for the virtual celebration to come.
“Each year, the Tekne Awards highlight Minnesota’s science and technology community by honoring the best ideas, advancements and achievements,” said Jeff Tollefson, president and CEO of MnTech. “Minnesota-run organizations played an increasingly important role in keeping our American economy running as we work through the pandemic. We are especially excited to spotlight those organizations that swiftly responded to COVID-19 and were instrumental in Minnesota’s public service efforts.”
In 2020, awards will be offered in 16 categories, seven of which are new. The full list of categories is included below and descriptions are available at:
