Minneapolis The Minneapolis Regional Chamber announced today that experienced public policy advisor Grace Waltz is joining the chamber as Director of Public Policy.
In this role, Waltz will help develop and execute government relations efforts and will advocate at City Hall, the County Board, the State Capitol and Washington, D.C. on behalf of the Minneapolis Regional Chamber and its members in support of policies, legislation and regulation that are conducive to a positive and successful business environment.
“We’re excited to have Grace join our team,” said Minneapolis Regional Chamber President & CEO Jonathan Weinhagen. “Grace’s experience working in key roles with some of our state’s top leaders will help us continue to deliver results for our members. We’re a region that strives to bring prosperity to all, but there is no doubt we must do better. Chamber businesses are working to reshape our community as a stronger, more equitable, and more inclusive place.”
Since March, Waltz has been supporting Minnesota’s Health Commissioner in her work related to the State response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to that, Waltz served on the presidential campaign of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar and as an advisor to U.S. Senator and Lt. Governor Tina Smith. Waltz is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas.
“I’m excited about this opportunity to work closely with business leaders in Minneapolis and across the region,” said Waltz. “The Minneapolis Regional Chamber’s focus on workforce, transportation and transit, and housing are critically important, especially as we work to strengthen our economy and put more people back to work. The Chamber plays a vital role in laying that foundation.”
The Minneapolis Regional Chamber is the largest local Chamber in Minnesota, with more than 2,000 members throughout the metro area. Affiliates include the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce and the Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce.
