EDINA, Minn., Mar. 8, 2019 - In honor of National Women in Construction Week, March 3rd through 9th, PCL Construction hosted its first Women’s networking and leadership event at its office in Edina on March 6th.

The PCL Women’s Resource Group hosted the event as part of its mission to advocate and encourage growth for women in the construction industry. The networking event also included a presentation by inspirational speaker, Sue Stock, on what a formula to “success” looks like, challenges women face in the industry and how to overcome them, and how important it is to create a network of women in an industry made of only nine percent females.

With over 50 men and women in the construction, architecture and real estate industry in attendance, valuable connections across all market sectors were made.

“We were grateful to have Sue share her insights, which were both valuable and inspiring, with a room full of successful women,” says Jill Winker, PCL preconstruction manager. “Sharing this experience with our industry partners and friends made it even more powerful.”

This event was just one of a week full of activities highlighting and celebrating women within the construction industry. From a hosted breakfast, job site tours led by women, company-wide audio forums on successful behaviors and habits, to leadership workshops, PCL focused on celebrating the accomplishments of its women employees.
