Building Great Commuter Benefits – A Twin Cities Hospital Roundtable

Join a hospital roundtable hosted by Move Minneapolis, Allina Health, Metro Transit, and Luum. We’ll enjoy lunch and get to know each other over conversation about shared commuting challenges and opportunities specific to health care. We’ll learn how Allina Health is working to reduce its drive-alone commute rate by 10%, and how Seattle Children’s Hospital built its award-winning, employee-empowering commute benefits program. Finally, we’ll discuss how to take the first step toward implementing your own sector-leading commuter benefits programs.

Speaker:

  • Jamie Cheney | Director of Transportation, Seattle Children’s Hospital

As Director of Transportation at Seattle Children’s Hospital, Jamie supports the Hospital’s goal of growing responsibly by leading efforts to reduce SOV trips to only 30% of all workforce trips by 2030. Children’s provides best-in-class transportation options to 10,000 workforce members across seven worksites.  She oversees policy development and transportation demand management (TDM) strategy and system implementation to support this strategic goal. Transportation systems include parking, employee shuttles, bike programs, end of trip amenities, right of way improvements, transit investments, encouragement, and customer service. Jamie previously served as executive director at Commute Seattle, a private-public partnership working to reduce the portion of drive-alone commute trips as a way to enhance Downtown Seattle’s economic competitiveness. During Jamie’s tenure, drive alone market share in Downtown dropped by 15 percentage points.
