Bloomington's Business Day at City Hall
Event Sponsors
Many Bloomington businesses are planning to hire in the next year. City Manager Jamie Verbrugge will discuss how a new survey shows that 44 percent feel the lack of a qualified workforce limits their operations to a large or moderate extent. Bloomington Mayor Gene Winstead suggests that embracing diverse populations helps local businesses achieve the growth they want by engaging all the talent in the region. This can make the difference between keeping up with the demographic and economic realities of our region, and your business being left behind.
The Center for Economic Inclusion connects communities excluded by race, place and income with business leaders to build an inclusive economy that leverages our region's diversity. CEO Tawanna Black will discuss how we are poised for long term transformational change within our region and the possibility of having a regional economy that works for everyone.
