Federal Transit Funding - Is This a Hold-Up?
In March 2018, Congress passed, and the President signed into law $1.4 billion dollars for new transit projects, even though the Trump Administration originally proposed ending federal funding for transit. That funding includes money forimportant projects here in Minneapolis-Saint Paul.
That’s the good news. The bad news is that the Federal Transit Administration has been stalling – just $25 million of that funding has been allocated.
Will Minneapolis-Saint Paul get our projects funded? What’s going on? And, what can we do about it?
If Minneapolis-Saint Paul is going to receive the federal funds needed to continue building and create a better transportation system and greater access to jobs, members of Congress need to hear from the business community.
Join us on Tuesday, Oct. 2 for a briefing with national transportation leaders to talk about what’s happening at the Federal level, what's at stake in Minnesota and how this will impact our plans for the future.
T4America is an alliance of elected, business and civic leaders from communities across the country, united to ensure that states and the federal government invest in smart, homegrown, locally-driven transportation solutions — because these are the investments that hold the key to our future economic prosperity.
