Emerging Leaders: How to Negotiate a Raise and Advocate for Yourself
Join the Minneapolis Regional Chamber's Emerging Leaders for a fun evening of networking and discussion on how to negotiate a raise and advocate for yourself. Many young professionals are eager to maximize their compensation and take control of their career to set themselves up for success but don't necessarily know the best way to go about it. If you are simply doing your job well and expecting to get recognized and compensated appropriately, that strategy may work at some places, but you will most likely result in a minor cost of living adjustment up to 3%. There are more strategic ways to achieve a successful career. The key is clear communication with your supervisor, outlining your goals, and building a case for yourself to prove you've met and exceeded expectations.
This event will start with a brief presentation on negotiation strategy and actionable ways to advocate for yourself in the workplace followed by a panel of successful young professionals to share the lessons they have learned on how to achieve your career goals. This event is specifically intended for young professionals looking for opportunities to develop themselves as leaders in the workplace.
Registration includes complimentary appetizers. Drinks will be available for purchase
